Thanksgiving Fun With Families

This year Thanksgiving weekend is a lot different for most of us. Many families are staying home and meeting over video chat. We had an impromptu jam on our porch, waved at neighbors, and Zoomed with family.

Want a few ways to get creative with family and friends over Zoom? Tongue Twisters and Acting Improv can be fun for all ages!

Tongue Twisters

Try some tongue twisters for a lot of laughs!

Pete passed pumpkin pie pieces perfectly.

Giant greedy gobblers grabbed goodies gluttonously.

Betty baked a better batch of buttered biscuits.

Who can say it 5 times really fast?

Tongue twisters are also fun to create. Hold a tongue twister challenge to see who can create the trickiest tongue twister. Keep to the theme or branch out to new themes.

Conducted Story

Conducted Story, one of my favorites, gets everyone thinking on their feet. It can get pretty zanny. Take a story adventure together!

Use these prompts:
Once upon a time there was a…
Named…
Who wanted… (make sure you use the name and character description as often as possible)
Suddenly…
Fortunately…
Unfortunately…
Finally…
And in the end…

Feel free to add in:
Thankfully…
They learned that…
And they all decided…
So from that time on…

Want even more acting improv fun?

Schedule an acting improv session with Garden Players for a fun friends or family experience.

Love it so much you want to share it? Give them the gift of creativity to a single creative, a group of friends, or a family with a Garden Players Gift Certificate.

Betina Hershey loves inspiring creativity and bravery through acting, singing, movement and writing.
