After the Benefit Concert is over, we will plunge right in to our May musical. There are all kinds of things that come along with us putting on a show. We organize parent volunteers for our costume crew, props crew, sets crew, and fundraising crew. We have Sunday rehearsals between the hours of 1-5.
I’m in Asheville, North Carolina, spending some alone time while my husband and kids hang out with relatives in Tennessee. It’s a rare day when I have time like this now that I am a Mom of twins, and as a teacher and an artist, I crave time alone to let ideas percolate and to dig in to my creativity.
I can’t believe it’s December. I did get a little over-excited and already buy and decorate a Christmas tree. I usually think about decorating a few days before the holidays and then wonder if I should buy a tree. But since having kids my holiday sensor kicked in. They love it, but I wonder if the tree will last through the whole month without losing all of its pine needles.
Practicing at home will be very helpful this month so that you don’t forget all of the excellent work you’ve put in. Our downloads page should help you with viewing Youtube versions of the songs and with copies of the lyrics. If you do need to take a copy home from class, just ask. I want you to have every opportunity to review the songs and scenes we’ve selected.
Classes are officially closed so if your friends are interested in joining, remind them to join the mailing list as a prospective student, and they will get an email before the next semester about registration opportunities. We do allow new students to join in January if there is space, but the most likely time for new students to join is in September of 2013.
